RTLB South East Region
RTLB and Practice Leader South Team
Kia ora koutou,
My name is Ainslie Howie. I am originally from Dunedin but have been based in Rotorua for the last 30 + years. My role in education consists of 19 years teaching experience in intermediate and primary settings, the majority of which was in a leadership role, and 9 years as a Resource Teacher of Learning & Behaviour in Te Hā o Te Manawa Cluster 20, Rotorua. In the latter, I have supported schools, kaiako and whānau across primary and secondary settings. I am a mother of two children. I have a daughter aged 19 and a son who is 16 years old, soon to be 17. My interests include singing and musical theatre. I am a member of the Te Ao Marama Choir and have been involved with many shows over the years. I also enjoy walking and reading. I am excited to take on a new role and I look forward to meeting you and working alongside you in the near future.
Ngā mihi,
Ainslie.
RTLB Cambridge
Kia ora koutou,
I am from Sheffield in the North of England but moved to New Zealand in 2007 where I have settled in Cambridge with my family. I am a husband to Mary and father to Evie, Charlotte and Isla. My background before teaching was in Outdoor Education. I then completed my Secondary training in Physical Education and Health at Waikato University in 2006 with my first job being at Cambridge High School. I then moved back to the U.K. for two years where I worked in Primary and Intermediate Special Education Units. On our return to New Zealand, I started working at Matamata College where I took on additional responsibilities of Year 10 Dean and Coach of PB4L-SW. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
Kind regards
Alex

I have been teaching in various roles for 15 years and have learnt lots of things along the way. I love my music and have played in bands for a number of years. I have a sense of humour and I easily relate to a diverse range of people. I have always enjoyed meeting and working with people new and old and I am looking forward to making a small but positive difference in my new role.
Nga mihi,
Mark

Tēnā koutou katoa
Since completing my teaching degree 11 years ago, I have been privileged to teach at a small country school just outside of Waharoa. During this time I have developed a special interest in accelerating learning for those children who face challenges and barriers with achievement. My own teaching practice has been influenced by the guidance and support I received from the services of RTLB, ensuring my students were supported to overcome difficulties.
Being passionate about children believing in themselves and being all that they can be, I feel honoured that I can now give support in a more specialised way. With this thinking, and consolidating what I have learnt as a classroom and specialist literacy teacher, I am very excited to have the opportunity to develop my own learning further.
I am very much looking forward to meeting, and collaborating with, the RTLB team at Cambridge, local schools within the cluster, and with those students and whānau that that are facing challenges.
Ngā mihi nui

RTLB Putaruru College
Hi, my name is Raewyn Ensor. I joined the Southern team in June 2016 and work out of the Putaruru College office. Prior to that I was working as an RTLB in South Auckland in Cluster 13 (Pukekohe/Papakura), for three and a half years. Previously I was a junior classroom teacher in a range of mostly rural primary schools in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas. I am originally from Tirau, so it is good to be back working in my home area, doing a job that I love. I can be contacted by email: rtlb.rensor@mi.school.nz or mobile 027 5324594.
