My favourite quote is ‘Life is a journey, not a destination’ and in my teaching career I can honestly say that I have been on an incredible journey of learning many new things and I am still learning.

I am passionate about teaching, particularly Literacy, Maths, and The Arts. During my time here at Morrinsville Intermediate I have been fortunate to have made many life-long friends, have enjoyed working alongside some great teachers, experienced two school exchange trips to Japan and one to Noumea and I thoroughly enjoy teaching a great bunch of students from the Morrinsville area.

I look forward to meeting with you all.

General Information

Kia Ora,

My name is Lyndsay Oldham and I am originally from Morrinsville. I gained a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and then a Graduate Diploma of Information Technology in Education.
I taught at Whakatane Intermediate and then spent two years teaching in London and travelling around the UK and Europe.
I have been at Morrinsville Intermediate for about five years in a number of different roles. I love my variety of different teaching roles as I get to know a lot of different students.

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my nephews and I enjoy being out in nature doing bush walks, bike rides and swimming.

I am excited for the year ahead and look forward to meeting you all.

General Information

Malo e lelei,

My name is Alana Tissingh, and I was born and raised in Morrinsville. I am a past student of MIS and am super excited to return as a teacher.

I have taught at Morrinsville School and Stanley Avenue School in Te Aroha for 7 years before having my daughter. I have just finished up teaching at Peachgrove Intermediate in Hamilton to come back and teach closer to my family.

Being brought up around playing different sports and outdoor activities, I enjoy bringing this passion into my teaching. I feel that learning should be fun and hands-on, which is something I strive towards in my classroom.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and family either in the backyard or at the beach.

I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all.

I'm Jess Flintoff and I am honoured to be teaching at Morrinsville Intermediate!

I myself attended both Morrinsville Intermediate and College and loved the opportunities that they had to offer. I am heading into my 4th year of teaching and love it. My particular interests are sports, music and drama. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my whaanau and friends and being out on the water.

I am passionate about teaching this emerging adolescent age group and love being able to invest into my local community. I am eager to get to know each student in order to best help them achieve their goals and grow.

General Information

I am a proud mother of two boys and together, with my husband Grant, we live in a little rural property on the outskirts of Morrinsville. I have moved around a lot, but grew up primarily in Whakatane. I am loving putting down roots in Morrinsville after many years farming throughout the Waikato and I am really looking forward to supporting and empowering the tamariki of our community.

I am loving teaching, working with children and seeing the amazing things they can achieve. Outside of teaching I like to spend time with my family, supporting my children's various interests, getting lost in a good book, exploring our local bush walks or relaxing at the beach.

I am looking forward to getting to know all my students and working together to achieve their goals. I look forward to meeting you all and working with the amazing team at MIS.
